Presents are unwrapped but still nestled under the tree. Our holiday lights twinkle from across the room, lulling me into a slower pace.
I’ve let myself slide into some sort of holiday break, though my enjoyment of the snow happens through windows and in the joy found in the cold-tinged pinkness of their cheeks. 2013 waits patiently on the horizon with deadlines and obligations, but for today we play.
Tread Softly will be on holiday break for another few days. I’ll be back on New Year’s Eve with a photo post looking back on the year (join us! see Farewell, Stranger for details,) and then regular blogging will resume. (Look for Torn Together, by Emlyn Chand to be featured next week.)
Happy holidays!
Angela

Enjoy your time off. It is nice to slow down once in awhile. I agree, nice seeing the snow and the kids playing in it but not so nice being in it with them. Of course I had a different perspective when I was the kid in the snow.
Of course! I’m sure I liked it a lot more when I was a kid, too
Ha I didn’t noticed the capes. Too cute with their initials on them. They are the cutest.
Thanks! They like them. I think they might be MY favorite gifts, even if they’re not the kids’ favorites
